Licensing Principia

The Principia Production Platform is licensed as an integrated package to developers and producers of digital entertainment. Please consult the technical specifications and roadmap to preview the package contents, and its current/planned capabilities.

At present, Principia is licensed under the Principia Developer License Agreement. In a nutshell, this license enables you to:

Build, publish and distribute products using your latest active licensed version of Principia.
Incorporate Principia component code, scripts and other content in compiled, end-user-invisible form in your finished product.
Make modifications to the Principia component code, scripts and other content to accommodate your specific product development needs. You acknowledge that Western Star Entertainment LLC or its affiliates may build future enhancements to Principia that are similar or identical to those made by you with no obligation or liability of any kind to you.
The License prohibits you from re-distributing Principia in part or entirety, except as a compiled, user-invisible portion of your product. The Licenses requires you to display “Powered by Principia” in the credits screen or presentation page of your product.

License costs consist in an one-time license fee plus an annual subscription. The later entitles you to free updates of Principia within the same major version (e.g. 3.1 to 3.2), and to continue building and distributing sequels to the original products for the development of which Principia has been licensed. The licensing cost depends on:

Number of seats of Principia (individual, 2-4, 5-9, unlimited)
Number of products to be built using Principia (one, 2-4, unlimited)
Other arrangements, such as development support

Please note that the above descriptions do not make any representations and do not have any legal force. The same applies to any other informational material on this site. The actual executed Principia License Agreement between you and Western Star Entertainment is the sole Agreement that governs your use of Principia, superceding any other understanding or agreements.
